Translation
KKS XX: 1106 Poems 1106 and 1107 came after the poem “okuyama no suga no ne shinogifuru yuki no” (551)
The tumult in my / heart today yearning for the / one I hold so dear / is no less frenzied than the / Ōi River current
KKS XX: 1107 my passion shall stay / hidden as the unopened / buds of plume grasses / on the Ōsaka slopes / where I met my beloved (Rodd 2017, pp. 376-377)
KKS (Deleted Poems) 1106 After "Burdened by this love." My yearning for her / swells today into a flood / no less turbulent / than the swift flowing waters / of the Ōi River.
KKS (Deleted Poems) 1107 After "Burdened by this love." I love unceasing / though my passion is hidden / as miscanthus plumes / still unsheathed at Ōsaka, / hill recalling lovers' trysts. (McCullough 1985, p. 247)
