Transliteration

KKS XI: 510 ise no umi no / ama no tsurinawa / uchihaete / kurushi to nomi ya / omoi wataran

Translation

KKS XI: 510 as never-ending / as the relentless tasks of / fisherfolk who cast / their nets and reel them in on / Ise sea love consumes me (Rodd 2017, p. 195)

KKS XI: 510 Must the agony / of this love drag ever on, / no different in length / than ropes pulled by fisherfolk / out of the sea at Ise? (McCullough 1985, p. 118)
