山吹は/あやなゝ/さきそ/花/みむと/うへけむ/きみ/か/こ/宵/こなく/に

Transliteration

KKS II: 123 yamabuki wa / aya na na saki so / hana mimu to / uekemu kimi ga / koyoi konaku ni

Translation

KKS II: 123 oh mountain roses / there is no reason for you / to bloom tonight for / he who planted you will not / come to visit (Rodd 2017, p. 83)

KKS II: 123 Do not waste your time, / kerria bush, by flowering. / He who planted you, / anticipating your bloom, / will not be coming tonight. (McCullough 1985, pp. 36-37)
