Transliteration

SKKS VI: 564 yamazato no / kaze susamajiki / yufugure ni / ko no ha midarete / mono zo kanashiki.

Translation

SKKS VI: 564 Composed on the topic 'fallen leaves' and presented at the "Kasuga Shrine Poetry Contest." A lonely mountain / village where savage winds gust / in the evening / making whirlwinds of falling / leaves, how sad the world is now. -Fujiwara no Hideyoshi (Rodd 2015, p. 237)
