Translation

WKRS 89 Slowly perfumed beneath the new seal of winter snow; / stealthily budding even before springtime winds have wafted.

WKRS 90 Green threads weave the willows / in front of T’ao Ch’ien’s gate; / white jade is fashioned / into the plum on the Ridge of Yu.

WKRS 91 On Five Ridges, rich in greenery, clouds come and go; / still we only love the ten thousand plum trees / of the Ridge of the Greater Yu (umlaut).

WKRS 92 Who says spring colors come from the east? / Exposed to warmth, the southern branches are first / to open blossoms.

WKRS 93 Our young spring sapling / We dug and moved last year / Has burst forth in bloom

WKRS 94 I thought to show to you, / My beloved, / The flowering plum, / But it cannot be seen, / As the snow is falling.
