哥たてまつれとおほせられし時に／よみてたてまつれる／さくら花さきてけらしもあしひきの／やまのかひよりみゆるしら雲寛平御時きさいの宮の哥合の哥／とものり／みよしの山へにさけるさくらはな／ゆきかとのみそあやまたれける

Translation
KKS I: 59 Commanded to compose a poem. now it seems that / cherry blossoms have burst forth / at last from here I / see white clouds floating between the rugged far-off mountain slopes KKS I: 60 From the poetry contest held at the residence of the Consort in the Kanpyo era. –[Ki no] Tomonori. far in the distance / on lovely Mount Yoshino / cherry blossoms must / have opened for as I gazed / I thought I saw snowdrifts there (Rodd 2017, pp. 65-66)
KKS I: 59 Composed by command. The cherry blossoms / must be at their glorious best, / for in the valleys / lying between the mountains / white clouds have come into view.
KKS I: 60 A poem from the Empress's Contest during the reign of the Kanpyō Emperor [Uda]. -Tomonori. Flowering cherries / blossoming in the mountains / of fair Yoshino - / betrayed by unwary eyes, / we mistake them for snowflakes. (McCullough 1985, p. 25)
